September is shaping up to be a proper treat for two-wheeler enthusiasts – from proper Italian exotics to a hot new Indian scooter – there’s plenty on the horizon to keep us drooling.
Let’s dive into what’s coming up this month.
Ducati Panigale V2
Yep, India still hasn’t gotten the current-gen Ducati Panigale V2, but that’s about to change soon. This supersport beauty combines that unmistakable Panigale silhouette with a slightly more forgiving nature . Typical for a Panigale, you’ll get a lot of lightweight materials, fully-adjustable Showa suspension, top-shelf Brembo brakes, and electronic rider aids galore. Likely to land this month, with a price tag of about Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom).
It packs the new 890cc motor that makes 120PS & 93.3Nm – which is down from the previous generation’s 955cc mill that churned out 155PS & 104Nm. The reason for this you ask? To meet the current WSSP (World SuperSport Championship) regulations 2025 onwards that allow a displacement between 660-990cc for twin-cylinder bikes, 500-900cc for triples, & 400-800cc for inline fours.
Ducati Streetfighter V2
The Ducati Streetfighter V2 takes the bones of the Panigale, sheds the fairings, and has a rather upright riding posture as expected of the name it carries. Under the skin sits the same 890cc V-twin engine as the Panigale V2 pumping out the same power figures, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with quickshifter. All the other good stuff is also here: fully adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes, riding modes, and a TFT dash. Expect a price of around Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom).
Ducati Multistrada V2
Think of it as the Streetfighter’s sibling who wears hiking boots. The Ducati Multistrada V2 is 18kg lighter than before, sharper, and more manageable than the big 1200s – making it the perfect Italian ADV for our roads….granted you have the moolah for it. Power comes from the same 890cc motor, but slightly de-tuned to make 115PS and 92.1Nm.
Fully adjustable long-travel suspension at both ends, upright ergonomics, and Ducati’s usual electronics suite mean it’s as happy munching expressway miles as it is shrugging off broken tarmac with ease. Expected price? Around Rs 18 lakh ex-showroom.
Updated Hero Mavrick 440
Hero’s flagship bike is about to get a bit more premium; the updated Hero Mavrick 440 is expected to launch with an upside-down fork and a TFT console, finally matching rivals on the features front. The 440cc single will likely continue to deliver 27PS and 36Nm.
This version was showcased back at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo in January 2025. We expect the price to be around Rs 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom), & hopefully, the brand markets the bike better this time around (they had to discontinue the current bike due to poor sales).
KTM RC 160
Here’s one for the budding supersport fans…on a budget. The KTM RC 160 could likely launch in September, hot on the heels of its sibling, the Duke 160. Think of it as the first track toy and weekend corner carver. It will share its aggressive styling and sharp ergonomics with the larger RCs but in a more approachable package.
Power output from the rev-happy single will be the same 19PS and 15.5Nm as the 160 Duke, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Also shared with the Duke will be the suspension and LCD console. We were quite impressed with the 160 Duke at its first ride and have high hopes from the faired sibling as well.
TVS Ntorq 150
Last but not least – on the scooter front – is the TVS NTorq 150. The bigger, meaner brother of the wildly popular TVS NTorq 125. It’ll compete with the Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160, the Aprilia SXR 160 and the SR 175. The larger 150cc heart is expected to produce around 12-14PS and it will get a quad-LED headlamp setup as seen in the teaser image.
Also expected is a colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, phone alerts, music controls, and maybe live cricket scores…..yes (it could maybe get the NTorq 125 Race XT’s display). Safety-wise, it’ll likely get single-channel ABS at the front. Launching on September 4, expect prices to hover around Rs 1.3-1.5 lakh ex-showroom.
