After a thunderous extended opening weekend, Border 2 faced its first real test on Tuesday (January 27). Trade expectations pointed to a noticeable dip, but the film held steady. It earned over Rs 19 crore net in India on day five, a solid figure for a weekday. The foundation for this strong run was laid over the Republic Day weekend. Border 2 collected Rs 180 crore in its first four days, including a massive Rs 59 crore haul on Republic Day alone. Driven by strong word of mouth and repeat audiences, the film nearly doubled its daily earnings between Friday and Monday, a trend rarely seen outside festive periods.
Overseas markets have also responded well. By Tuesday, the film had earned around $4.5 million internationally. This takes its global total to Rs 275 crore in just five days, underlining the film’s appeal beyond India, especially among diaspora audiences who connect with its patriotic themes.

With these numbers, Border 2 has already crossed several major box office benchmarks. On day five, it surpassed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 266 crore) and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (Rs 267 crore). The film is now chasing the top tier of Hindi war dramas and is eyeing the records set by Uri and Fighter. Trade analysts expect Border 2 to breach the Rs 300 crore mark by Thursday morning if the current trend continues.
