Vasundhara Oswal, daughter of an Indian billionaire, faced racial discrimination in Switzerland. A neighbor misbehaved with him while mowing the lawn. By sharing the video, Vasundhara criticized the small thinking of the people of ‘developed’ countries.
Switzerland Vasundhara Oswal, elder daughter of Indian-origin billionaire businessman Pankaj Oswal, has shared a bitter experience of racial discrimination faced by her. Vasundhara has posted a video on Instagram, in which one of her Swiss neighbors is seen misbehaving with her for running a lawn mower outside the house.
According to Vasundhara, this incident happened on Thursday afternoon. A man came to the gate of his house and asked him to immediately switch off the lawn mower. When Vasundhara asked the reason, he started shouting and said, “You don’t live in India.” It can be seen in the video that Vasundhara is calmly explaining to him that there is no legal restriction on using such machines on Thursday, but the man continued arguing.
‘Development does not happen only in infrastructure’
In her post, Vasundhara strongly criticized the small thinking of the people of ‘developed’ countries like Switzerland. He wrote, “We expect people in a ‘developed’ country to be more intelligent, but here the case is the opposite. Is the development of a country determined by its infrastructure or by the thinking of its people? When the citizens there do not know how to mix with people of different cultures, then why is Western culture considered better than Asian culture?”
‘Ours is one of the most expensive houses in the country, yet…’
Vasundhara said her family has been living in Switzerland for the past eight years and has built one of the largest private homes in the country, yet they face discrimination time and again. He alleged that Indians of different complexions, who are in better economic conditions than the local Swiss people, are deliberately targeted. Let us tell you that the Oswal family has been living in Switzerland for the last decade. A few years ago, he had bought ‘Villa Vari’, one of the most expensive private houses in the country, for about Rs 1,649 crore. According to reports, despite living such a luxurious life, this Indian family has already faced many difficulties at the local level.
