Uttar Pradesh participated in WEF Davos 2026 for the third consecutive year and secured investment proposals worth over ₹2.92 lakh crore in AI, data centre, green energy and manufacturing sectors, strengthening the state’s global investment image.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh effectively presented the development journey and investment potential of the State on the global platform by participating in the 56th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Conference held from 19 to 23 January 2026 at Davos-Klosters, Switzerland for the third consecutive year. This engagement further strengthens the State’s commitment to establish Uttar Pradesh as a competitive and credible global investment destination.

Global participation on the theme of ‘Spirit of Dialogue’

Held on the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue”, the conference was attended by approximately 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries. It included more than 60 heads of state, global industry leaders, policy-makers, civil society representatives and innovators.

Message of ‘Partner with Bharat’ in India Pavilion

The Government of India delegation included Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Shri Prahlad Joshi, IT and Electronics Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav and senior officials of DPIIT. The India Pavilion with the message of “Partner with Bharat” was set up at Promenade-63 in Davos, which integrated India’s investment story, economic transformation and technological capabilities.

Participation of ten states, presentation of India as an integrated investment market

The highlight of the India Pavilion was the joint participation of ten Indian states. These states presented India as an integrated and investment-ready market in sectors such as energy, technology, manufacturing, logistics and infrastructure.

UP delegation under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Under the guidance of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, a high level delegation of Uttar Pradesh reached Davos under the leadership of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna. The delegation included senior officials including Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Shri Deepak Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office Shri Amit Singh, Invest UP CEO Shri Vijay Kiran Anand and UPNEDA Director Shri Inderjit Singh.

Communicated with global investors through 119 meetings

The Uttar Pradesh delegation held 119 important meetings with global leadership and international investors. During these interactions, 31 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in areas such as data centres, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, manufacturing and artificial intelligence (AI), involving proposed investments of over ₹2.92 lakh crore.

Historic achievement in AI and data center investment

Extensive discussions were held with global companies like Google, Uber, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, Cisco, Deloitte, Google Cloud and Automation Anywhere. Signed a ₹200 crore MoU with SA Technologies and a landmark agreement with AM Green Group to set up a 1 GW AI-based data center in Greater Noida, with a proposed investment of ₹2.1 lakh crore by 2028. Uber also showed interest in potentially setting up a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Noida.

Strong commitment to green growth and energy transition

NTPC Green Energy signs non-financial MoU on renewable energy and green hydrogen. REC Ltd proposed to invest ₹8,000 crore for 500 MW agricultural waste-to-energy projects. Partnership with Carbon Compass and Renenergy Dynamics on the development of briquetting and CBG plants, which is in line with SATAT and Net Zero 2070 targets.

Big investment proposals in manufacturing sector

Rashmi Metallurgical commits investment of ₹4,000 crore for 1 MTPA integrated steel plant. Discussions took place on smart factories, Industry 4.0 and supply chain development with AB InBev, Godrej, Philip Morris International, Kuebler Group and Schneider Electric.

Water Management, Smart Village and Solar Solutions

Dialogues took place with Grundfos, Ramki Group and Schneider Electric on water management, solar pumps, microgrids and smart village projects. Grundfos proposed solarization of 50,000–60,000 pumps per year in Uttar Pradesh and pilot projects in Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi.

Opportunities in Agri, Pharma and Life Sciences

Investment opportunities in agro-processing, pharma, diagnostics and R&D sectors were discussed with Bayer Consumer Health and Agilent Technologies.

Focus on FDI, skill development and global talent

Discussions took place on long-term capital investment, FDI/FPI, skills development and global talent mobility with BlackRock, Deloitte, Marsh McLennan, Adecco and Wealth Door. Adecco expressed interest in setting up a service area center in Lucknow.

Dialogue on Climate Innovation and Sustainability

The delegation discussed future-oriented opportunities related to climate innovation and sustainability with Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and MIT and former NASA scientist.

Future action plan and implementation of MoUs

Invest UP will further strengthen policy support, infrastructure, skilled human resources and single-window system for effective implementation of all signed MoUs. A dedicated single-window team will be formed for 31 investment proposals, which will provide support from approval to implementation.
