Stolen Motorcycle Recovered, Accused Arrested Near Thivim Railway Stat

Mapusa: Mapusa Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and recovered a stolen motorcycle within hours of the theft reported near Thivim Railway Station in Bardez taluka.

According to police, Narayan Yellappa Kerwadkar (46), a resident of Khorlim, Mapusa, lodged a complaint on January 26 stating that his Hero Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number GA-03-AB-7810 was stolen on January 25 between 8.00 pm and 8.10 pm. The motorcycle had been parked in an open parking area near the Thivim Railway Station road, Thivim.

Based on the complaint, police registered an offence and initiated an investigation. During the course of investigation, police arrested the accused, Tippanna Jadhav (26), a resident of Sirsaim, Bardez, on January 26 at around 5.38 am.

The stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle, valued at approximately ₹20,000, was recovered from the possession of the accused. The vehicle is a 2014 model, black with silver colour.

Further investigation in the case is being carried out by Investigating Officer Head Constable Anil Shetty (HC-5651).
