According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 collected Rs 59 crore net domestically on Monday alone, its highest single-day figure so far. This sharp jump followed a steady upward trend, with Rs 30 crore on Friday, Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday, and Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. By the end of its extended opening weekend, the film had amassed Rs 180 crore net in India, translating to a gross domestic figure of Rs 212.5 crore.

Internationally, the war drama has also found strong traction. The film has earned approximately $4.3 million overseas within its first four days. Combined with its Indian numbers, Border 2 now stands at a worldwide total of around Rs 251 crore, achieved in record time.

With these figures, Border 2 has become only the seventh Hindi film since last year to cross the Rs 250 crore global milestone. On Monday, it also overtook the lifetime worldwide collections of Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 184 crore) and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 243 crore). Trade analysts expect the film to breach the Rs 300 crore mark by Wednesday if the current momentum holds.

The Anurag Singh-directed film has also outperformed several recent heavyweights in its opening window. It has surpassed the first four-day domestic collections of Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar’s record-breaking spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh. While Dhurandhar went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film ever, earning Rs 889.80 crore domestically, its first four-day India total stood at Rs 126.25 crore, far behind Border 2’s Rs 180 crore.

The Republic Day release window has played a crucial role. Much like JP Dutta’s original Border in 1997, the sequel tapped into patriotic sentiment. The original film, made on a Rs 12 crore budget, had earned Rs 66.70 crore and went on to become a blockbuster.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The supporting cast includes Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh.
