New Delhi: All hell broke loose at the Lumen Field in Seattle, US, after home team Seattle Sounders defeated Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the final to win the Leagues Cup trophy. An ugly brawl broke out minutes after the full-time whistle as players from both sides clashed with each other. Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez sparked controversy after appearing to have spat at a Sounders staff member during a confrontation.

Suarez, who is not new to controversy, got involved in a fight that erupted between players from both sides immediately after the full-time whistle in the final. The brawl took an ugly turn when Inter Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets threw a punch at Sounders’ Obed Vargas. Meanwhile, Inter Miami defender Maxi Falcon headlocked another Sounders player.

It soon turned into a full-blown scuffle as players from both sides had a go at each other and threw punches, with some trying to calm things down. Suarez was pulled out from the large group confrontation at one point, however, he didn’t stop as the Inter Miami striker was caught on camera having a confrontation with Sounders’ director of security Gene Ramirez.

During their altercation, Suarez spat on Ramirez’s face as the Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari and other Sounders staff members pulled him away. The clip of Suarez’s disgusting spit act soon went viral on social media, with many slamming the Inter Miami striker, who has had a history of being involved in such controversies.

The incident adds to a list of instances in Suarez’s career, which he has been involved in shocking controversies. The Uruguay striker, who has bitten players on three separate occasions and has been accused of racism in the past, has had numerous moments in his career where he has been involved in physically violent conduct on the pitch.

The Inter Miami striker is likely to be penalised and handed a heavy ban for his disgusting act against Ramirez.
