Lucknow. 14 lakhpati didis of Uttar Pradesh brought pride to the state by participating in the Republic Day celebrations organized in the country’s capital New Delhi. These women selected under the State Rural Livelihood Mission participated as special guests in the Republic Day Parade organized at Duty Path, New Delhi. These didis spread the message of self-reliant women, prosperous villages and strong Uttar Pradesh to the entire country.
Dialogue with Union Rural Development Minister, discussion on rural livelihood
On the occasion of Republic Day, Lakhpati Didis of UP met Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. During this, women discussed issues related to rural development, innovation and employment-oriented businesses.
From milk business to e-rickshaw, didis share their success
Lakhpati Didis informed about their work and achievements in sectors like dairy business, café operations, spice manufacturing, advanced agriculture, beauty parlors, e-rickshaw operations, cow-based products and Prerna Canteens. Other women including Mantravati Devi of Etawah shared their experiences and told how they became self-reliant through self-help groups.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan praised Lakhpati Didi campaign
Praising the efforts of women, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Lakhpati Didi campaign is becoming a powerful medium of women empowerment in rural India. This campaign is giving women respect and recognition along with economic self-reliance.
Most of the sisters witnessed the grandeur of Republic Day for the first time.
After watching the Republic Day Parade, all the Lakhpati Didis expressed pride and enthusiasm. Most of the didis had reached Delhi for the first time and witnessed the grand celebrations of Republic Day for the first time. All arrangements related to his stay and programs during his stay in Delhi were made by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Rural Development.

During the program, Anupama Singh of Sambhal was honored with a shawl for her remarkable contribution. Apart from this, on January 27, Lakhpati Didis of UP along with Didis of other states will also be taken on a tour of important places of Delhi.
