Sanju Samson: Team India won the series by defeating New Zealand in a one-sided fashion in the first three T20 matches. But Team India is still stuck in a tension and that is Sanju Samson not scoring runs. Sanju Samson has failed in the last three T20 matches and now the question is arising that when Tilak Verma returns to the playing eleven in the T20 World Cup, who will be out? Sanju Samson or Ishan Kishan? Former Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane has supported Samson on this issue. He said that he will keep Ishan Kishan out and give a chance to Sanju Samson. According to Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir will definitely stand with Samson.
What did Ajinkya Rahane say on Sanju Samson?
Ajinkya Rahane, in a special conversation with Cricbuzz, said that for him Sanju Samson is a great player and despite the failure, he should get a chance in the T20 World Cup. Rahane said, ‘The management captain will have confidence in him and will stand with him. Sanju Samson is a quality player. He has amazing ability. It is such in this format that if you get out early, you will look very bad. The way you got out will hurt everyone. But never mind. In this format you will have to play with complete freedom. You have to trust yourself.
I will keep Ishan Kishan out
Ajinkya Rahane further told what Sanju Samson should do to get back into form. He said, ‘He will have to spend time at the crease. Watch the first two overs and then start playing. I think Ishan Kishan will have to sit out. Sanju Samson will remain in the playing eleven. Even if Sanju Samson does not score runs in the next two matches, he will be in the playing eleven for me.
It is important for Sanju to score runs
India now has to play the next T20 match on 28 January. The match will be held in Visakhapatnam where it is very important for Sanju Samson to score runs. If this player performs well then there will be no chance of him being out of the playing eleven. But if he continues to perform poorly then Team India can take a big decision because there is T20 World Cup at stake here.
