Seeing the strong and muscular young Bhima, Hidimba became fascinated by him. She took the form of a beautiful Apsara and went to Bhima. Here Hidimba got tired of waiting for his sister, so he reached the forest. There he saw that his sister was talking to Bhima in the form of a beautiful Apsara.

The war between Bhima and Hidimba started. Hidimba helped Bhima in the war against his brother. In the end Hidimba was killed. After Hidimba’s death, Hidimba told the whole truth to Bhima and expressed her desire to marry him. On this Bhima told Hidimba that he had no intention of marriage. After this Hidimba went to Mother Kunti. Told him about Bhima and his marriage. Then Kunti agreed to the marriage, but she put a condition before Hidimba.

Mother Kunti told Hidimba that Bhima would stay with her only until she got a child. Hidimba wanted to marry Bhima, so she agreed to this condition. After this both of them had a Gandharva marriage. After some time, both of them had a son, who was named Ghatotkacha. After having a son, Bhima returned from Hidimba.
