Prayagraj: The Indian Air Force (IAF) civil engineer, who was shot dead at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj Cantonment area, had alerted authorities citing a threat to his life 15 days before his death. SN Mishra was a command work engineer (CWE) under Military Engineering Services (MES).
Mishra was shot dead at his residence in UP’s Prayagraj on March 29. He had written to his superiors alerting them about the trespassing at his premises and the threat to his life. Mishra’s letter to his superiors has surfaced online.
In the letter, he alleged that there was a burglary attempt at his residence during the night of March 14. He had stated that miscreants tried to cut the mosquito net of the door with the help of a cutter.
SN Mishra’s Letter To Authorities:
“It is intimated that there was an attempt of Burglary at my residence 649/1, North Camp during the night of 14 March 2025 at around 0230 AM. Miscreants tried to cut the mosquito net of the door through cutter. Undersigned woke up after hearing an unusual sound coming from outside and inspected through the window of the bed room. On moving out to check & on being challenged, miscreants fled away who were two in number,” Mishra had written in the letter that surfaced online.
“The matter was immediately reported to guard room of North Camp and AF Police visited the residence to inquire about the incident. On 14th Mar morning, one shoe of one of the miscreants was found in the drain adjacent to boundary wall which was taken away by the provost team. Further, while tightening the hessian cloth on the boundary wall, one knife, pipe rod and grill cutter were also found which indicates the malafide intent of miscreants for causing serious hurt to life and property of the undersigned,” he added.
He had further alleged that a plier was found near the main security wall and concertina coil was found adjacent to a tree. Mishra had demanded an inquiry into the incident.
Meanwhile, Mishra’s wife Vatsala has appealed to authorities to re-examine the case as she alleged that ‘the assailants’ actions do not reflect a motive of theft or robbery. In a press note, she further stated that it could be a case of ‘targeted killing’.
