BCCI Selectors And Team Management: The controversy over Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson being dropped from the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe has now deepened. Amidst the disappointing performance of the Indian team on the England tour, the decision to drop Sanju Samson from the team has not only angered the cricket fans but has also created differences between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the team management.

World Cup hero dropped after only three matches

After the defeat in the first match against England, in a shocking step Sanju Samson was dropped from the playing eleven. He had to face this punishment for scoring single digits in three consecutive matches. The thing to note is that Sanju Samson is the same player who was chosen Player of the Tournament in the 2026 T20 World Cup held a few months ago. Where he scored consecutive runs in the knockout matches.

After dropping Samson, 15 year old young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi was given a chance to debut in the second T20 match played in Manchester. After this, the situation became worse for Sanju when he was completely left out of the 15-member Indian team for the Zimbabwe tour. According to reports, this decision to keep Sanju Samson out of the team has created a rift between the selection committee and the team management. However, the Cricket Governing Body (BCCI) has defended this decision of the selectors and said that this step has been taken keeping in mind the bright future of Indian cricket.

BCCI keeps a close eye on the team in England

According to reports, BCCI is currently keeping a close eye on the performance of Team India on the England tour. The aggressive mentality of Abhishek Sharma and new player Vaibhav Suryavanshi of hitting sixes on every ball has been considered a major reason for the team’s defeat. The board has made it clear that it will counsel these two young players so that they can learn from their mistakes with time.
