A case of fraud of Rs 13.5 crore has been registered against filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt at Versova Police Station in Mumbai. There is an allegation of fraud in the name of investment, which is now being investigated by EOW. Bhatt’s wife is already involved in a cheating case.
The troubles of filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt seem to be increasing once again. A case of alleged fraud of Rs 13.5 crore has been registered against the two at Mumbai’s Versova police station on the complaint of a businessman. The complainant alleges that a huge amount was taken from him on the pretext of getting huge profits on investment in films and other business projects, but the promise was not fulfilled. According to the police, after the case was registered, the investigation of this matter has now been handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW).
When returns were not received the businessman took action
The businessman approached the police when despite waiting for a long time, he did not get the promised return on his investment. He says that Vikram and Krishna Bhatt had assured that the investment was safe and would yield good profits, but later no financial accountability was maintained.
Vikram Bhatt’s wife arrested in fraud case
This matter has come to light at a time when Vikram Bhatt is already facing another serious legal dispute. In December 2025, Rajasthan Police arrested him and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt in an alleged fraud of about Rs 30 crore. The allegation in that case was that financial irregularities were committed with investors through a separate business venture. Rajasthan Police took both of them into custody from Mumbai and took them to Udaipur. At that time, investigating officer DSP Chhagan Purohit had said that both the accused would be produced in the court and further legal process would be adopted. After his arrest, his medical examination was also conducted, while notices were issued to other suspects related to this case.
New case becomes legal challenge for Bhatt family
In the Rajasthan case, the investigating agencies had focused on thorough scrutiny of documents and tracing the trail of money transactions. Now the new case registered in Mumbai has also emerged as another big legal challenge for Vikram Bhatt and his family. At present, investigation is going on in both the cases and more action is expected in the coming days.
