Kritika, 28, an assistant section officer, said in her Instagram video that she manages her entire monthly expenses with around Rs 25,000 every month, while her in-hand salary is around Rs 90,000. Biggest expense reduced by sharing in 2BHK flat
Kritika lives in a 2BHK flat in Delhi with a flatmate. His rent share comes to around Rs 11,500 monthly, which is the largest part of his total expenses. House rent is often considered the biggest financial burden in metros, but room sharing has kept their monthly budget quite balanced.
Smart food management: Made and home cooked food
He has also kept his food expenses under control. The total monthly expenditure for a maid is Rs 5,000, of which her share is around Rs 2,500. Apart from this, they mostly eat home-cooked food, which greatly reduces the expense of eating out. She spends only about Rs 2,000 a month on eating out.
Grocery expenses increased due to technology and online ordering
For grocery and daily use items, she uses apps like Blinkit and Zepto. His monthly expenditure on this ranges between Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000.
Reduces transport expenses by using scooter instead of auto-taxi
According to Kritika, she travels daily by scooter, which reduces her transport expenses significantly. His monthly expenditure on petrol is around Rs 1,500. This can be considered a big reason for savings in a city like Delhi, where cabs and public transport are expensive.
Very low utility and lifestyle expenses
He told that he does not have to pay electricity bill due to the facilities of Delhi Government. The total cost of WiFi, gas and RO comes to around Rs 1,000 per month. Their expenses for OTT and subscription services are almost zero as they share accounts with family and friends. He also clarified that travel and large one-time expenses like trips or shopping have not been included in this budget.
