Under the leadership of Yogi government, Auraiya district has promoted green energy by making solar rooftop and rain water harvesting mandatory in new residential buildings. This model will take the state towards clean energy and green future.
Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously doing new experiments to promote clean energy and sustainable development. In this direction, Auraiya district has taken an important and far-sighted step to encourage residential solar energy.
Now, solar rooftop system and rain water harvesting has been made mandatory in the process of getting maps passed for new residential buildings in the district. This initiative aims to strengthen environment and water conservation along with power saving.
Solar rooftop and rain water harvesting mandatory in new buildings
Under this strategic decision taken in Auraiya district, it will be necessary to install solar panels and rain water harvesting systems in newly constructed residential buildings. To implement this system, the concerned municipalities, municipal corporations and nagar panchayats can pass resolutions in their board meetings. After the approval of the map, implementation of both these systems will be mandatory during the construction of the building.
Scope of clean energy will increase in urban and rural areas
This initiative will expand clean energy in both urban and rural areas. Solar rooftop system will increase carbon-free power generation, while rain water harvesting will strengthen water conservation. This step will prove important towards energy self-reliance as well as environmental balance.
Exemplary initiative for other districts
According to the state government, this initiative of Auraiya district is an exemplary model for other districts also. The government believes that all districts can promote residential solar energy at the level of urban and rural local bodies by taking policy decisions according to local conditions. This will give new impetus to green energy in the entire state.
Rooftop solar growing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh is already progressing rapidly in the field of rooftop solar panel systems. At present rooftop solar systems of 1191.64 MW capacity have been installed in the state. About 50 lakh units of carbon-free electricity is being produced every day, due to which there has been a significant reduction in the adverse effects on the environment.
Electricity saving, employment and land conservation
Common citizens are getting the benefit of average electricity savings of Rs 3.25 crore per day from rooftop solar panel system. This initiative has strengthened the economy of the state and around 50 thousand people have got direct employment opportunities while lakhs of people have got indirect employment opportunities. Along with this, due to the solar rooftop model, conservation of about 4500 acres of land has become possible, which can now be used for other development projects.
Strong step towards a green future
Yogi government believes that if this model of Auraiya is implemented in other districts of the state also, then Uttar Pradesh will be included among the leading states of the country in the field of clean energy. This initiative will play an important role in energy security, environmental protection and economic empowerment as well as in taking the state towards a green future.
