New Delhi: Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Axar Patel are not included in India’s playing XI for the second T20I against New Zealand at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur on Friday, January 23.
Bumrah was replaced by Harshit Rana in the playing XI, with Kuldeep Yadav also coming in for the injured Axar Patel. Captain Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss that Bumrah has been rested for the T20I match in Raipur.
“We have two changes – Axar is missing out because he got hit in the last game. And Bumrah is resting tonight. So Harshit and Kuldeep come in,” said Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.
Bumrah was also rested for the ODI series, which was won by the visitors 2-1. It was their maiden ODI series victory in India. Broadcaster Murali Kartik said on air that Bumrah will be available for the third and fourth games of the series.
