Sarfaraz Khan: Sarfaraz Khan has created a new history in the world of cricket. This domestic season has been quite spectacular for Sarfaraz Khan, who is struggling to make a place in Team India. He is scoring runs in every format, which is also a good sign for Chennai Super Kings before IPL 2026. Be it first class cricket, List A or T20 format, Sarfaraz Khan’s bat is on fire. He has accomplished a feat which no player in Indian cricket could do before.
Historic feat of Sarfaraz Khan
Phase-2 of Ranji Trophy started well for Sarfaraz Khan. He scored 227 runs in 219 balls against Hyderabad. This was his fifth double century in first class cricket, and he also completed 5000 first class runs during this period. In this innings, he put Mumbai in a strong position by hitting 19 fours and 9 sixes. Before this, he also scored 157 runs in 75 balls against Goa in Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A), which included 9 fours and 14 sixes. This was his best innings in List A.
Apart from this, he started the season with a explosive innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20 tournament), where he scored 100 runs in 47 balls against Assam. In this innings he hit 8 fours and 7 sixes. This was his first T20 century. He has played these three big innings within 52 days. With this, he has become the first player from India to score a double century in first class cricket, 150 runs in List A and a century in T20 and is the third and fourth player in the world.
Joined the list of these greats
This special achievement had been achieved by three English players before. Daniel Bell-Drummond did this feat in 2016 and 2023. Whereas, Alex Hales had achieved this feat in the year 2017. Sarfaraz has now joined this elite club. His form is further strengthening the demand for his return to the Indian Test team, where he has performed brilliantly in the past also. But he has not been a part of the team for a long time.
