Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking concrete and effective steps to connect the youth with employment. In this sequence, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) and State Vocational Training Council (SCVT) based in Gautam Buddha Nagar. This initiative will prove to give a new direction to skill development, vocational education and entrepreneurship in the state.
Youth of Western UP will get skill training on a large scale
Under this MoU, in the first phase, NAEC will provide short-term skill training to one lakh youth from 128 development blocks and 10,323 villages of 18 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh in the next five years. This training will be given in 28 different sectors, so that the youth can be prepared as per the needs of the industries.
Employment to 70 thousand youth, 50% participation to women
After completing the training, approximately 70,000 candidates will be provided employment in industrial units. The special thing about this scheme is that 50 percent of the total trainees will be women. This will not only increase employment opportunities but will also strengthen women empowerment.
NAEC will become an industry based skill training hub
As a major apparel export cluster of the country, NAEC will provide training tailored to the needs of the garment and textile industry. The entire process from training to placement will be conducted by NAEC through its digital platform “Kaushal Ganga”.
Livelihood and market connectivity through digital portal
“Kaushal Aajeevika” and “Kaushal Bazaar” portals operated by NAEC will help in connecting the trained youth with employment, self-employment and the market. Through these platforms, trainees will get direct contact with industries and employers.
Role of SCVT: Assessment and Certification
State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) will play an important role in this participation. SCVT is an awarding body recognized by the National Council of Vocational Education and Training, Government of India. She will do the work of evaluation and certification of all the trainees.
SCVT will be given a certification fee of ₹1200 by NAEC for each trainee. Along with this, SCVT will also prepare new courses from its own level and get them approved by the National Council.
Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh through skill development
Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Kapil Dev Aggarwal said that the aim of the Yogi government is that every youth of the state should become skilled and should not have to wander for employment.
This MoU between NAEC and SCVT will act as a strong bridge between industry and academia. This will provide employment to the youth and Uttar Pradesh will emerge as a major skill hub of the country.
