Which video of England cricket team created ruckus? Ben Stokes also said- remove him

Ben Stokes announced his retirement during the Nottingham Test.

England cricket is constantly in the headlines these days. The women’s team had to face defeat in the final of the T20 World Cup. Whereas the men’s team is dominating Team India in the T20 series. Just before that, it suffered defeat in the Test series against New Zealand, where captain Ben Stokes also announced his retirement. But amid all this, the England Cricket Board is now in a new trouble. In fact, the International Cricket Council has objected to the ECB’s video in which Ben Stokes announced his retirement during the Test match.

Stokes’ retirement video in discussion

Just a few days ago, the last Test match between England and New Zealand was played in Nottingham. During the fourth day of play of this match, suddenly the news of Stokes’s retirement came. After some time, the England Cricket Board also released a video, which was from the England dressing room. This video was taken just before the start of the fourth day’s play, in which Stokes told the entire team about his decision of retirement. This video went viral and got a lot of discussion.

ICC said violation of rules

But several days after this entire incident, ICC has now expressed displeasure over this video and has contacted ECB regarding it. ICC has called it a violation of the code of conduct. The ICC alleges that recording and broadcasting any kind of video inside the dressing room during an international match is a violation of the rules related to ‘Players and Match Official Area’ (PMOA).

Under Article 2.2.11 of the PMOA, the cricket federation of any country is required to ensure that during an international match, no temporary or permanent video camera or recording equipment is used in the dressing room, which is used for public broadcast of video or audio during the match. According to the BBC report, the ICC had once before warned the ECB regarding the same rule that no video should be broadcasted during the match which has any audio.

Stokes gave a funny reaction

After this matter came to light, a new uproar has arisen in English cricket and questions are being raised whether the ECB officials or the team management were not aware of the rules. On the other hand, former captain Ben Stokes also jumped into this matter and gave such a reaction on social media regarding this news, which forced the fans to laugh. Reposting this news, Stokes wrote – ‘Fire him’. With this one post, Stokes was taunting all those who till a few days ago were demanding his removal.
