Bengaluru: A man from Bengaluru was spotted on the footpath of the busy city with a note that claimed he was unemployed and homeless. Netizens were quick to discuss the situation. They had varied opinions and assumptions.

The incident came to light on Reddit. Sharing two image of the homeless man, a Redditor wrote, “Came across this man at a prominent Bengaluru signal. As heartbreaking as it is to see him, I keep wondering is this a result of society failure or personal choices?” The first image showcased the man on the street. In the second image, the a note held by the man read, “I don’t have job, no house, please help me. I have 14 years working experience in banking.” Redditors swiftly started talking about the incident. Some were concerned for the man. They claimed it was unfortunate to see somebody go through a hard time.

Meanwhile, others wondered a variety of things. Some questioned his unemployment in a city like Bengaluru where jobs are relatively easier to find. Redditors also wondered if he had a physical disability that hindered him from getting jobs. One wrote, “Most people are saying that if he is physically able, he should be able to do some job like delivery or driving. But the reality is that if you remain unemployed for a long time, there is a chance you become mentally broken and depressed. That creates a barrier too.”

A second person commented, ““Wait, did he lose his certificates or were they destroyed? Whatever it is, it’s unfortunate. But if it’s just his unwillingness to work or look for work, then that becomes a personal issue.”

A third individual said, “I  won’t make a decision based on just one photo. Look, I am not trying to be rude, but everyone is struggling in their life. No one has it easy, unless you come from a wealthy family with generational wealth.”
