Chhattisgarh government has launched short term loan against salary scheme for government employees. E-Kosh portal will provide interest-free, digital and instant financial assistance.
Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai launched the short term loan against salary scheme for the government servants of the state in the auditorium of Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. On this occasion he also released the official brochure of the scheme. The Chief Minister said that this scheme is an important initiative of the state government towards employee welfare, good governance and sensitive administration. Its objective is to provide dignified, quick and simple financial assistance to employees in times of need.
Employees will get financial security through short term loan scheme against salary
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that government employees are the strong foundation of the development of the state. If employees remain free from financial worries, they will be able to discharge their responsibilities with full capacity and dedication. With this, it will be easier to effectively deliver the benefits of government schemes to the last person of the society.
He said that in emergency situations, employees will no longer have to face the compulsion of taking loans from private moneylenders or at high interest rates. The government has prepared a system through which eligible employees will be able to easily get short term loans without unnecessary paperwork.
E-Kosh digital platform will provide completely paperless facility
The Chief Minister said that the Finance Department has linked this scheme to the e-fund system with the help of information technology. The entire process has been made digital, paperless, secure and transparent. This arrangement will not impose any additional financial burden on the state government. He praised the entire team of the Finance Department for this innovation and urged all the government employees to actively cooperate in pursuing the goal of developed Chhattisgarh and good governance.

Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is continuously taking decisions related to administrative reforms and employee interests. He said that after implementing cashless medical facility for the employees, short term loan scheme against salary has now been started, under which interest-free financial assistance will be provided to the employees if needed.
He informed that in just two months of the pilot phase of the scheme, more than 73 thousand employees have registered themselves, while 27 thousand employees have also availed the benefit of this facility. He also informed that in future, a plan is being worked on to provide higher amount of loan at competitive interest rates to the employees with better credit score.
Employee organizations welcomed the plan
Provincial Convenor of Chhattisgarh Employees-Officers Association, Shri Kamal Verma, while expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister, said that the employees were demanding such facility for a long time. This scheme will play an important role in providing respectful and timely financial assistance to employees in emergency situations.
Online application will be done through e-fund employee portal
According to the government, this entire facility will be operated through a digital platform linked to the e-fund system. Employees will be able to apply online by going to the Employee Corner of e-Kosh. Loan approval and disbursement of amount will be done faster once the process of e-KYC, digital authentication and necessary consents are completed during the application. As per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Finance Department, high standards of data security, privacy and digital authentication have been ensured throughout the system.
Many senior officers were present in the program
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Mr. Vikassheel, Special Secretary of Finance Department Mr. Chandan Kumar, Secretary of Public Works Department Mr. Mukesh Bansal, Director (Budget and Finance) Mr. Rishabh Parashar, President of Chhattisgarh Ministerial Employees Association Mr. Chandrakant Pandey and a large number of officers and employees were present.
