Uttar Pradesh News: UP government has allotted agricultural land and housing sites to landless farmers and poor under the land reform program. About 70% of the target set for the financial year 2025-26 has been achieved.
Lucknow,. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has implemented large-scale land reform programs for the economic self-reliance of villagers and landless farmers living below the poverty line. Who are playing an important role in making the concept of inclusive development successful in Uttar Pradesh. Under this, the state revenue department allots agricultural land and housing sites to landless and small land holding farmers as per the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In this sequence, the department has achieved approximately seventy percent of the targets set for the financial year 2025-26. Due to which not only landless farmers have got opportunities to become self-reliant, but their social and economic status has also improved significantly. Which is also playing an important role in the empowerment of the rural economy of the state.
Allocation of 151.80 hectares of agricultural land to landless farmers
Under the land reform programs being run in the state under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, land is allotted to landless or small land holding villagers by the Gram Sabha. Under which, in the year 2025-26, 151.80 hectares of agricultural land has been allotted to 1076 allottees by the Revenue Department. Which is approximately 69.16 percent of the set target. Due to this work of the Revenue Department, fertile land for farming has been made available to the landless and marginal farmers of the state. This will not only bring stability to their livelihood, but will also lead to positive growth in the total agricultural production of the state.
Revenue Department allotted housing sites to 3754 families
The Revenue Department also provides land for housing to those living below the poverty line in villages. In this sequence, the department has allotted housing sites to 3754 families in the financial year 2025-26. Which is approximately 70.90 percent of the set target. By obtaining housing, these families not only got a roof over their heads, but its direct effect was seen in the improvement of their social and economic status. In this program of the state government, preference is given to people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes. Providing agricultural land and housing sites under the land reform programs of the Revenue Department is an important part of the inclusive development policy of the state government. This not only ensures equitable distribution of land in the state, but is also promoting social justice and economic empowerment in rural areas.
