South box office report: Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu races ahead as others fight weekday drops

South box office report: The South Indian box office presented a familiar weekday picture on Wednesday, with most releases witnessing a sharp slowdown after promising starts. While big-ticket titles continue to anchor overall collections, several mid-budget films are now struggling to hold momentum as audience footfalls dip post-festive rush.

The South box office clearly shows one major takeaway: star-driven spectacles continue to rule, while smaller films are finding it increasingly difficult to survive beyond the first week.

Parasakhti box office collection

Directed by Sudha Kongara, Parasakthi has completed 12 days in theatres. The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan, earned an estimated Rs 49.83 crore in its first 11 days. On Day 12, early trends show a modest Rs 3 lakh added to its tally. With a total of around Rs 49.86 crore India net so far, the film is now inching towards the Rs 50 crore mark, though weekday numbers indicate that its theatrical run is entering the closing phase. Despite mixed audience chatter, the film benefitted from a strong first week and a solid second weekend.

Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu collection worldwide

The clear winner of the season remains Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. Headlined by Chiranjeevi and directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film continues to dominate across markets. After eight days, it has amassed approximately Rs 165.9 crore India net and Rs 233.25 crore worldwide. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remain the strongest contributors, while overseas collections have crossed Rs 36 crore. Even with the expected Monday dip, the film’s sustained performance confirms its blockbuster status.
