Took chemicals to become thin after watching videos on YouTube.

Who doesn’t like to look slim? No one wants to get even a little obese. Obesity not only makes people feel ashamed, but it is also home to diseases. In such a situation, many people go to various social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook and search how to reduce obesity. Most people do this so that they do not have to pay doctors’ fees. And obesity can also be reduced in a shortcut way. But sometimes doing this becomes too heavy. Same thing happened in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Here a girl learned the recipe to reduce obesity on YouTube. But due to this he lost his life within a few hours.

According to media reports, Kalaiyarasi (19), a resident of Meenambalapuram, Madurai, was troubled by her increasing weight. He saw a video on YouTube which claimed that consumption of Borax (Sodium Borate) leads to rapid weight loss. Inspired by the video, Kalaiyarasi bought this chemical from a shop on January 16 and consumed it on the morning of January 17.

The girl was in agony, her organs started failing.

Shortly after consuming the chemical, he started having severe vomiting and diarrhea. The family immediately took him to the hospital, where after first aid he was sent home. But by evening his condition worsened. When he was taken to the government hospital at 11 pm due to weakness and continuous vomiting, doctors declared him dead. Kalaiyarasi’s father has lodged a complaint with the police and currently a case of ‘suspicious death’ has been registered and investigation is underway.

How dangerous is borax?

According to experts, borax, also known as sodium tetraborate, is actually used in household cleaning, laundry detergent and as a pesticide. It acts like a poison for the human body. Swallowing it can cause kidney failure. Burning sensation and ‘chemical poisoning’ occurs in the internal organs of the body. Many times it directly causes death.
