In Kolar’s Malur, Aanjinappa (45), a priest who practiced witchcraft on Amavasya, was murdered with a sharp weapon. The police are investigating the murder from multiple angles including enmity related to black magic, land dispute or personal rivalry.
Malur: On the occasion of Amavasya, a priest who performed scary and shocking witchcraft worship in a temple built in the middle of the village crematorium was brutally murdered by miscreants by cutting him with a sharp weapon. The incident occurred near Araleri village in Malur taluk of Kolar district. This gruesome murder has created deep concern and fear among the villagers. The deceased has been identified as Anji alias Anjinappa (45), a priest of Hullur Chowdeshwari temple. He practiced witchcraft and worshiped Goddess Kali. Police said that miscreants stopped Aanjinappa, who was going on a bike after finishing the puja on Sunday night, and attacked him with a sharp weapon and killed him on the spot.
Witchcraft worship performed on the occasion of Amavasya
It is being said that the deceased Aanjinappa had performed a terrible witchcraft puja on the new moon day in the temple built in the middle of the village crematorium. Black magic was performed along with Ashtamangal puja by making a doll from clay and piercing nails in different parts of it. It is said that many things including liquor were used in this puja. Evidence of this witchcraft has been found near Hullur Kalikamba temple, where clay dolls, puja material and other things were found scattered on the spot.
Worship in the name of exorcising ghosts
It is said that many people from the village and surrounding areas used to come to Aanjinappa to get rid of ghosts, demonic obstructions and other troubles. Local people said that since there was a special puja on the day of Amavasya, many people had gone to get the puja done on Sunday night also.
Many doubts behind the murder
Many doubts have arisen regarding the death of Aanjinappa, who had two wives. Was this murder due to enmity related to black magic? Or is it the result of a land dispute or some personal rivalry? These questions are being raised now. With whom there was enmity after the puja, this is also an important part of the investigation.
Police officers visit the spot
As soon as information about the incident was received, District Superintendent of Police Kannika Sikriwal and Malur police station reached the spot and investigated. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the police have registered a case and started investigation. The police are investigating from every angle to find out the real reason behind this black magic and horrific murder that took place in the village crematorium. This incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the entire area and has filled people with fear.
