New Delhi: US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha are expecting their fourth child, the couple announced in a social media post on Tuesday. Vance and the second lady are set to welcome a baby boy in late July.
The couple has three young children – Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel. In the social media post, Vance, 41 and his wife, 40, said both mother and baby were doing well.
“During this exciting and hectic time, we are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children,” the post said.
Vance has time and again advocated for larger families and urged Americans to have more children. Since the beginning of his political career in 2021, he has been expressing concern over declining birth rates. After becoming Vice President, he has continued to encourage population growth.
In a 2025 March for Life speech, Vance had said, “I want more babies in the United States of America.”
Usha Vance and their children have often accompanied the vice president on foreign visits. In the past, very few senior US leaders would have children while in office.
