Railway Under Bridge: The Public Works Department has instructed officials to speed up the Railway Over-Bridge (ROB) and Under-Bridge (RUB) projects in Chhattisgarh.
There is hope of getting relief soon from the long jams and traffic problems at railway gates in Chhattisgarh. The Public Works Department (PWD) has given strict instructions to officials to increase the pace of Railway Over-Bridge (ROB) and Railway Under-Bridge (RUB) projects. Departmental Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal made it clear in the review meeting that any unnecessary delay in construction works will not be tolerated and all pending projects should be completed within the stipulated time.
Emphasis on accelerating ROB-RUB projects
In the review meeting held in Raipur, senior officials of the Public Works Department and South-East-Central Railway discussed the progress of the under construction and proposed projects. Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal gave instructions to speed up the work by creating better coordination between the two departments. He said that it is the government’s priority to complete the projects at the earliest to reduce jams at railway gates and ease the movement of people.
Pending work will start soon after removing obstacles
In the meeting, officials were instructed to immediately remove all the administrative and technical hurdles in the projects whose work has not started yet. Works like land acquisition, renaming, removal of encroachment, land diversion and utility shifting were asked to be completed on priority and in a time bound manner. Also, wherever necessary, the Public Works Department and Railway officials will conduct joint inspection and speed up the process of drawing-design and estimation.
Progress will be reviewed every three months
The Secretary of the Public Works Department also stressed on regular monitoring of the construction works. He directed that a review meeting should be organized every three months to evaluate the progress of the projects and timely resolution of pending matters should be ensured.
The government believes that the completion of railway over-bridge and under-bridge projects will not only make road traffic safer and easier, but will also increase the speed of goods transportation. This will provide relief to the common people from the long wait at railway gates and the transport network of the state will become stronger.
