IND vs SA: Team India’s South Africa tour announced, so many matches to be held before T20 World Cup

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is going to start in a few days. This tournament will start from 7th February in India and Sri Lanka. In such a situation, at present all the discussion is happening about this T20 World Cup. Team India is also busy in its preparations. But there is to be another T20 World Cup this year and in that too the Indian team will enter as a contender for the title. There is talk of Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, for which the Indian team under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur will soon start its preparations. For this, Team India will go on South Africa tour in April.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Tuesday, January 20 that the women’s team will tour South Africa in April 2026. On this tour, a series of 5 T20 matches will be played between the two teams, which will start from April 17. This will be the third series of the Indian team after winning the ODI World Cup last year. Team India played the T20 series against Sri Lanka only in December 2025, whereas in February-March it will play series of all three formats on the Australia tour.

BCCI has also released the schedule of this series, according to which all 5 matches will be played in 3 different venues in South Africa. Out of these, 2 matches will be played in Durban, 2 matches in Johannesburg and one match in Benoni. After this tour, Team India will tour England at the end of May, which is also the venue of the T20 World Cup. However, before the World Cup, a series of 3 T20 matches will be played between India and England.

At present, Team India players are keeping themselves match fit and in rhythm by playing in WPL 2026. Immediately after the end of WPL, Team India will leave for Australia, where it has to play a Test, ODI series and T20 series. In this way, just before the World Cup, Team India is getting good opportunities for practice, which can prove helpful in winning the first T20 World Cup title.

22 April – 3rd T20 match, Johannesburg

25 April – 4th T20 match, Johannesburg

27 April – Fifth T20 match, Benoni
