A bench of Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Srivastava and Justice G Arun Murugan heard the appeal. Earlier on January 15, the Supreme Court had directed the Madras High Court to take a decision on the petition by January 20 and reserved its decision. Since then the release of the movie is stuck.
