Akshay Kumar had told in an interview given to E-Times that he had done the underwater stunt without an oxygen cylinder. During this time, his head hit a ship submerged in the sea and he started bleeding. They were about 150 feet under water and surrounded by sharks. Akshay had said, "I could die. A shark could eat me."
While narrating his ordeal, Akshay Kumar had said that when he got hit on his head, there was an atmosphere of chaos inside the water. There was a group of 40-45 sharks there. Two of them smelled blood and came near them. But during this, Akshay showed agility and quickly swam to the surface, which saved his life.
Akshay had told in the conversation that when he was shooting the film ‘Blue’, Hollywood’s famous underwater cinematography specialists Pete Zuccarini and James Bomalik, who had worked for films like ‘Indiana Jones’, were part of the team. According to Akshay, he did not feel the danger immediately, but later when he thought about it, he understood the seriousness of the situation. Akshay had also emphasized in the conversation that Short becomes a threat only when he himself feels in danger. ‘Blue’ is an action adventure film, directed by Anthony D’Souza. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Lara Dutta, Rahul Dev, Katrina Kaif and Kabir Bedi also played important roles in the film. The film proved to be a disaster at the box office.
