India is becoming global auto innovation hub, says ex-Nissan India MD Rakesh Srivastava

New Delhi: In an exclusive short video interview, I speak with Rakesh Srivastava, former Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, on how innovation is reshaping India’s automotive future.

Srivastava emphasizes the fact that India is rapidly transitioning to electric mobility, connected cars, high-tech manufacturing, and software-driven cars, and the country is one of the most interesting auto innovation hubs in the world. He highlights the increasing consumer expectations, government policies and local engineering talent as increasing the rate of change.

According to him, the next phase of growth will be driven by smart, sustainable, and affordable mobility solutions, with India playing a critical role not just as a market, but as a global innovation and export base for automakers.
