Market calmed down in the morning, then mood changed
The day started weak in the stock market. Nifty opened nearly 100 points down around 25,500. The market also tried to control itself for the first few hours. Many investors felt that the decline would not extend much. But by afternoon the atmosphere changed. Sharp selling started in IT, pharma and banking stocks. In no time the market went deeper into the red and by closing the situation had become quite bad. Sensex fell 1065 points to 82,180 and Nifty fell 353 points to close at 25,233.
