New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 from tomorrow, January 21. The paper will comprise 300 marks and for each correct answer four marks will be awarded, while for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted. Candidates will get no marks for the unattempted questions.
The JEE Main admit card 2026 for the January 21 to January 24 exams is available for download on the official NTA website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The admit card for the January 28 and 29 exams will be released in due course.
In West Bengal, the exam set for January 23 has been postponed due to Saraswati Puja. The new exam dates for the West Bengal candidates will be announced shortly.
JEE Main 2026 exam shift timings
The JEE Main 2026 BTech exams will be conducted from January 21 to January 24 and on January 28. There will be two shifts- the first shift is set from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second shift from 3 PM to 6 PM. The BArch and BPlan papers are scheduled for January 29.
JEE Main session 1 exam day guidelines
- Candidates appearing for the exam must carry the JEE Main admit card and a valid identity proof to the exam centre.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, books, notebooks, loose sheets of paper, bags, wallets, purses are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
- Jewellery, metallic items or any personal accessories are not permitted inside the exam centre.
- Candidates need to use the rough work sheets provided at the centre.
- Any candidates found to have indulged in unfair means in the entrance exam will be barred from appearing for the exam for up to 3 years and shall also be liable for criminal action or any other action as deemed fit.
- Non-Aadhaar candidates must register through Aadhaar, DigiLocker, PAN card or passport. Those who do not register through Aadhaar will need to arrive at least an hour earlier than the scheduled reporting time to have their biometrics recorded.
- Follow the instructions of the invigilator inside the exam hall.
