Delhi government is going to launch ‘Mahila Samridhi Yojana’ on Rakshabandhan. Under this scheme, eligible women from economically weaker section will get Rs 2,500 every month directly in their bank account (DBT).

Delhi government is bringing a big gift for women on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. ‘Mahila Samridhi Yojana’ will be launched on 28th August. Under this scheme, eligible women will be sent Rs 2,500 directly into their bank accounts (DBT) every month.

This financial help is for women from economically weak families. Delhi government has kept a fund of Rs 5,110 crore for this scheme in the budget of 2026-27. Officials believe that around 20 to 22 lakh women can benefit from this initiative.

Who will get the benefit of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

Women applying must meet these conditions:

  • She should be a permanent resident of Delhi.
  • Their age should be between 21 to 60 years.
  • The annual income of the family should be between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
  • Women who have ration cards will be given priority in registration.

Who will not get the benefit of Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

These women will be excluded from the scheme:

  • Government employee.
  • Women paying income tax.
  • Women receiving government pension.
  • Women who have a four-wheeler (car) in their name.

Online registration process for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana

Registration will be completely online. These documents will be required for application:

  • aadhaar number
  • Bank account information linked to Aadhaar
  • mobile number
  • Proof of residence
  • date of birth
  • Marital status (married or not)
  • Self-declaration form

The government has prepared the website for this and the applications will start immediately after the official launch of the scheme.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said,

The government wants to ensure that the scheme is easily implemented, so that every eligible woman can avail its benefits without any hassle.

The objective of this scheme is to make women economically stable and empowered in Delhi.
