America recently imposed 50% tax on Indian diamonds, due to which Gujarat’s diamond trade has been badly affected. Especially in Surat, which is called the Diamond City of India, its impact has been seen the most. The impact of this decision is not limited to business only, but poor and middle class families are facing its direct loss. The situation has become so bad that about 2.4 lakh children in Gujarat have had to leave their studies midway.
