ChiA woman was shocked to know the secrets revealed after her husband’s death. According to a South China Morning Post report, the woman discovered that her husband had been having a secret affair for years and had transferred around 20 million yuan (about Rs 23 crore) to his girlfriend.

Shen, who lives in Shanghai, found out that she had been cheated on after 20 years of marriage. After the death of her husband Jin in May 2022, when she looked at his personal documents, it was revealed that he had a secret affair with a woman named ‘Tao’ since 2015. Not only the affair, Shen also discovered that Jin had secretly transferred more than 19 million yuan (about Rs 23 crore) from the family’s savings to Tao.
The matter reached the court
Shane and his children decided to go to court against these money transactions that took place without their knowledge or consent. He argued in the court that the property created during marriage is joint property of the husband and wife and it cannot be gifted to anyone else without asking the partner.
Decision came in wife’s favor
After hearing the case, the court ruled in Shane’s favor. The court said that it is not legally correct for Jin to give such a huge amount to another woman without informing his partner. Before Jin’s death, Tao returned 5.4 million yuan to him. Therefore, the court ordered the remaining 14 million yuan (about Rs 17 crore) to be returned to Shen immediately.
Tao appealed against this decision, but it was rejected by the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court. Upholding the decision of the lower court, the court again made it clear that such deception with family and partner has no legal validity. Even though Shane discovered that their love of 20 years was a fraud, she managed to get her due along with her children.
