The Fact Check Unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has refuted the claims running on social media that the Central Government is planning to ban Rs 500 notes. PIB Fact Check has termed this information as “fake”. PIB Fact Check said in a post on PIB further clarified that no such announcement has been made by the Central Government. The fact check unit also shared a screenshot of the misleading social media post.
