IMD Weather Forecast: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert that the next five days may be dangerous for some states. Therefore, there is a warning to be careful, otherwise a little carelessness can result in loss of life. Along with cloud burst, storm will also cause devastation.
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday has predicted heavy rain in many parts of the country for the next few days. IMD says that the southwest monsoon is still active, due to which heavy to very heavy rains may occur in areas of northwest, central, west coast and northeast India.
IMD’s biggest alert in these states
According to IMD’s All India Weather Bulletin, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many states. On July 8, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka, East Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Central Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka.
Clouds will rain from Delhi to Rajasthan and MP
- Heavy rain is also expected in Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Kerala and Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, North Interior Karnataka, Punjab, Saurashtra and Kutch, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Western Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in many states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim in the coming days.
Somewhere it will rain and somewhere there will be a storm
IMD also said that there may be isolated torrential rains over the west coast and adjoining areas. Also, thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds with speed of 40-60 km per hour are also expected in Peninsular, Central and North-Eastern India.
Weather report of Gujarat and Rajasthan Haryana
- IMD said that the southwest monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Gujarat and some more areas of Rajasthan and Haryana. Conditions remain favorable for further advance of Monsoon into remaining parts of Northwest India. Meanwhile, heavy rains have affected normal life in many states.
- In Haryana’s Gurugram, a large portion of National Highway-48 in Narsinghpur area caved in following heavy rains on Tuesday, causing traffic disruption.
Rocks falling in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand
- In Uttarakhand, traffic came to a standstill after debris and stones fell on the road near Sianchatti on Yamunotri National Highway (NH-134). According to the Uttarakhand Information and Public Relations Department (DIPR), the concerned agency has started work to clear the debris and resume traffic.
- The IMD has advised people in areas prone to heavy rainfall to check traffic conditions before travelling, follow traffic advisories, avoid waterlogged areas and weak structures, and take precautions to avoid localized flooding, low visibility, landslides and transport disruptions.
