Rudraprayag Police has started ‘Operation Cyber Security’ campaign. Its objective is to speed up disposal of cyber complaints, recovery of money from victims of fraud and prompt action in cases involving women and children. The SP called it a campaign to provide relief to the victims.
Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [भारत]July 8 (ANI): Rudraprayag Police on Wednesday intensified “Operation Cyber Suraksha” campaign across its district to strengthen action against cyber crime. The focus of this initiative is to ensure speedy disposal of cyber complaints, immediate action on complaints received through 1930 Cyber Helpline, effective implementation of e-Zero FIR system and prompt recovery and refund of money lost by victims of cyber fraud.
The campaign also aims to keep the records of cyber criminals updated on the designated portal, ensure immediate registration of FIRs in cyber crime cases involving women and children and timely disposal of all pending cyber crime cases.
The main objective is to provide relief to the victims
Speaking on the initiative, Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police (SP) Niharika Tomar said that the primary objective of this campaign is to provide relief to the victims of financial fraud. SP Tomar said, “As per the orders of Police Headquarters, Dehradun, a cyber security drive is being conducted by the police in all the districts during the month of July. Rudraprayag District Police is also fully engaged in this work. Our objective is to review and resolve various cyber crime cases – whether they are registered on the NCRP portal, related to ‘digital arrests’, or ongoing cyber investigations. Our main objective is to ensure recovery and return of funds to the victims.”
Emphasis also on safety of minors and recovery of lost property
The Superintendent of Police said that apart from financial crimes, the operation also focuses on recovery of lost property and safety of minors in the digital space. He further added, “In addition, the campaign also includes other processes such as recovery and return of lost mobile phones, as well as taking action against the spread of child pornography and sexual exploitation material on the Internet based on suggestions received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).”
CM Dhami gave instructions to make plans according to the future
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today reviewed the functioning of the Social Welfare Department and directed officials to design all welfare schemes keeping in mind not only today’s needs but also the challenges and requirements of the next 25 years. He said the plans should remain effective over time and serve as “best practice” models for other states.
CM Dhami said, “The aim of our government is not just to launch welfare schemes, but to establish a sustainable and effective system that also meets the needs of the coming generations. Social security, education and dignity are the rights of every eligible citizen. Uttarakhand will develop a model of good governance that will inspire other states across the country to adopt similar practices.” (ANI)
