Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [भारत]July 8 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan has described the alleged irregularities in the donations given for the Ayodhya Ram temple as a ‘serious crime’ against the faith of crores of devotees. He said that this controversy has deeply hurt the sentiments of the people across the country. Speaking to ANI after offering prayers at the Ram temple and Jakhu Hanuman temple in Shimla along with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, cabinet colleagues and Congress leaders, Chouhan said devotees had contributed to the temple with devotion and sacrifice and any alleged misuse of donations is an insult to Lord Ram and his followers.
‘There can be no greater insult to Lord Ram than this’
Chouhan said, “A very serious crime has been committed in Ayodhya. Ram temple is a symbol of faith of crores of people. Devotees contributed with full devotion for the construction of the temple, but today their sentiments have been deeply hurt. When news came out through the media that the offerings made by devotees in faith were allegedly being stolen, there could be no greater insult to Lord Ram than this.”
No action is expected from the central government
The minister said the Congress leadership has gone to the Jakhu Hanuman temple and sought divine intervention as they have no hope of ensuring accountability from the central government in the matter. He said, “Today we have come to the Lord Hanuman temple because we have no hope from the BJP government at the Center that it will identify those responsible for the alleged theft of donations and take action against them. We have come to pray that Lord Hanuman himself protects the ideals of Lord Ram and protects the Ram temple.”
‘May the accused attain sanity’
Chouhan also launched a scathing attack on those allegedly involved in the controversy and said that those responsible had betrayed the trust of the devotees. He further said, “No one has any hope from those accused of theft of donations given in the name of Lord Ram. We have prayed that they gain sanity and understand how serious what has happened.”
The minister said the alleged misuse of offerings made at the Ram temple is not just a financial matter but has also hurt the religious sentiments of crores of devotees who had contributed to the temple with faith and devotion. He stressed that those responsible must be held accountable and the sanctity of the temple and the ideals of Lord Rama must be protected. (ANI)
