IND vs ENG 3rd T20I: The Trent Bridge ground of Nottingham has become a bitter memory for the Indian cricket team. Team India had to face a shameful defeat in the third T20 match played against England. The Indian team, which came to chase England’s strong target of 201 runs, collapsed like a house of cards and the entire team was all out for just 76 runs. With this crushing defeat, England has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 5-match T20 series. At the same time, for the first time in the history of Indian cricket, such an unwanted record has been recorded, which no cricket fan would like to remember.
Phil Salt’s stormy innings
England, who came to bat after losing the toss, had a very slow start. Arshdeep Singh had completely tied Phil Salt by bowling a maiden in the very first over. But from the other end, Jos Buttler scored runs quickly and scored 36 runs, which was bowled by young Prince Yadav on an accurate yorker. After this, the Prince also showed the way to the pavilion for Harry Brooke. After the initial struggle, Phil Salt found his rhythm and played a brilliant inning of 70 runs in 44 balls, which included 7 fours and 3 sixes.
However, Harshit Rana pushed England on the backfoot by dismissing Bethel and Tom Banton on two consecutive balls, but in the end, Sam Curran played a quick inning of 41 not out in 24 balls, taking England to a huge score of 201. Whereas, from India’s side, Prince Yadav and Harshit Rana took maximum 2-2 wickets.
Indian batsmen surrendered
Indian batsmen surrendered in front of the mountain-like target of 202 runs. No Indian batsman could show the courage to stay at the crease in front of the fast bowlers of England. Due to the pace of Joffra Archer and the brilliant bowling of Josh Tong, the entire Indian team was reduced to a score of only 76 runs. From India’s side, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ishan Kishan scored the maximum 13-13 runs. At the same time, Akshar Patel and Abhishek Sharma added 10 runs each. None of the other batsmen could touch double figures. Whereas, Josh Tong took maximum 4 wickets in this match. Joffra Archer got 3 successes. Adil Rashid also took 2 wickets. Due to which England won this match by 125 runs. This is India’s biggest defeat in T20I in terms of runs.
Team India without win in 5 consecutive matches
This is the first time in the history of T20 International cricket that the Indian team has failed to win even a single win in 5 consecutive matches. This bad phase of the Indian team started with the tour of Ireland. Team India had lost both the matches against Ireland. After this, the first match of the England series remained inconclusive due to rain. In the second match, India had to face a crushing defeat by 4 wickets. Now there was a big defeat in Nottingham.
