During Gupt Navratri, apart from the nine forms of Goddess Durga, ten Mahavidyas are worshipped. Magh Gupt Navratri is celebrated every year from Pratipada to Navami of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. In the year 2026, Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Magh month is starting on Monday, January 19 at 01:21 am. This date will end the next day i.e. on January 19 at 02:14 am. Udaya Tithi is considered in Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, this year Gupt Navratri is starting from 19th January. Ghatasthapana and puja will be done on this day.

According to Vedic calculations, the auspicious time of Ghatasthapana on January 19 will start from 07:14 in the morning. This will last till 10.46 in the morning. It will start at 12:11 pm in Abhijeet Muhurta. This will last till 12:53 pm. In such a situation, the devotee can start Gupt Navratri by doing Ghatasthapana i.e. setting up the Kalash at the time as per his convenience.

  • During Gupta Navratri, Tantrik and Aghori worship Goddess Durga at midnight.
  • During this, first of all the statue or idol of Maa Durga is installed.
  • Then red vermillion is offered to them. Chunari with golden braid is offered.
  • After this, puja materials are offered at the feet of the mother.
  • Red flowers are offered to Maa Durga.
  • Lamps are lit with mustard oil.
  • The mantra ‘Om Dun Durgaayi Namah’ is chanted.
