There is going to be great happiness for more than two lakh families of UP on Sunday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will transfer one lakh rupees each to the accounts of these families. This money will help these families fulfill their dream of owning a house.
To give new impetus to ‘Mission Awas’ in Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister will provide relief to the people. On Sunday, January 18, a grand state level program will be organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan (IGP) located in Gomti Nagar, capital Lucknow, where the Chief Minister will release funds worth crores of rupees as the first installment of housing construction in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through digital medium.
Money will reach more than two lakh accounts simultaneously
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the dream of more than two lakh poor families of the state to own their own house is now going to turn into reality. The biggest feature of this program is that the Chief Minister will send the first installment of Rs 1 lakh each to the accounts of more than two lakh eligible beneficiaries through a single click through ‘Direct Benefit Transfer’ (DBT). Overall, an amount of more than Rs 2000 crore will reach the public accounts in a single day. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will also be specially present on this important occasion.
There will be direct communication with the beneficiaries
About one and a half thousand beneficiaries have been invited to this main function to be organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, to whom checks or acceptance letters can be symbolically handed over by the Chief Minister and the Union Minister. Beneficiaries from all other districts of the state will directly connect with this program through video conferencing and online link. District level programs will be organized in every district in the presence of local public representatives. During this period, the Chief Minister will also interact directly with some selected beneficiaries, so that the ground impact of the scheme and their happiness can be shared.
Big step towards urban development
Providing permanent houses to eligible families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is one of the top priorities of the Yogi government. As soon as this amount of the first installment is received, the construction work of the beneficiaries’ houses will gain new momentum. The government aims to complete the construction of all the houses within the stipulated time frame so that the homeless and families living in kutcha houses can get a roof over their heads.
In this grand event, Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma, Minister of State Rakesh Rathore and senior officials of the Urban Development Department will also participate. The department has issued instructions to all the districts to ensure the attendance of the beneficiaries and timely payment process. This step will not only solve the housing problem but will also prove to be a milestone in improving the standard of living in urban areas.
