David Warner surpasses Virat Kohli’s T20 record with second hundred in BBL 2025-26

New Delhi: David Warner has smashed his second hundred of the BBL 2025-26 season during a match between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers at the SCG on January 16. He scored an unbeaten 110 runs in 65 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and four maximums.

His sensational innings helped the Thunder to set a 190-run target for the Sixers. Inserted into bat first, the Thunder got off to a blistering start as Warner and Matthew Gilkes forged a 56-run partnership for the opening wicket. Mitchell Starc removed Gilkes for 12 runs, but Warner continued to play attacking shots.

The wickets continue to fall at the other end as Sam Konstas and Sam Billings also failed to make any big contributions with the bat. The Thunder opted for the Power Surge in the 14th and 15th overs, scoring 38 runs as Warner stitched an 84-run partnership with Maddinson to help his team cross the 170-run mark.

Warner notched up his second BBL hundred of the season in 60 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and three maximums. Daniel Sams also played an explosive cameo, smashing a boundary and a maximum in the final over.
