Aaryan Khan’s The Ba***ds Of Bollywood is one of the highly-anticipated shows of the year. Show’s producer Manish Chaudhari recently opened up about Aryan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan that if he had any reservations about giving auditions despite being in the industry for several years.
When asked about working with a debutant director after spending 30 years in the industry, Manish Chaudhari said in a conversation with NDTV that he feels “glad,” as it shows that the new generation of filmmakers is still eager to cast him.
Talking about Sha Rukh Khan, Chaudhari said, “Shah Rukh Sir calls me a nice producer. I met him a couple of times during the shoot. It was always inspiring to meet him. I was extremely happy to have him close by on two or three occasions on set.”
While speaking about Aaryan Khan, the actor continued, “It feels great to work with debutants. The new-age directors are coming to the fore. A lot of directors, I have worked in the last 4-5 years, have been in their mid-20s or mid-30s. Time has changed, stories have changed, so has the way of telling stories.”
“The new generation brings in fresh ideas. I am glad that this generation is interested in casting me. It’s important to be relevant as an actor across as many generations as possible,” he further added.
At the preview launch of The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, Bobby Deol jokingly mentioned that Aryan requested multiple retakes during filming. When asked if he had a similar experience, Chaudhari responded, “Shooting a series or film involves a process, and retakes are simply a part of it. There’s nothing unusual about that-everyone does it, including Aryan as a director.”
When asked if he auditioned for The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Manish Chaudhari said, “They approached me. I read a scene or two with him. That was that. Well, if somebody wants to read with me to find out what I could bring even after looking at my body of work, I wouldn’t mind.”
“If someone wants to read with me how I would sound in a particular role before casting me, I won’t have a problem with that. Actually, the body of work is very strong now. So, nobody really asks me for an audition now. I am lucky that way. My work has made an impact, it has resonated with the directors or producers where they directly cast me in the characters they want me to do,” he said.
