New Delhi [भारत]July 7 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched a tree plantation drive in Delhi’s RK Puram area, which aims to plant 70 lakh trees in the national capital region.
Campaign to return respect to nature
During her address, Delhi CM said, “Today we are launching ‘Eco Restoration Mega Plantation Drive 2026’, this campaign is to return respect to our nature, a campaign to rejuvenate greenery, where such greenery has to be rejuvenated. Our culture considers rivers as mothers. Our culture teaches us that the environment should be respected.”
During the campaign, Delhi CM announced, “It is a matter of joy for us that the campaign to plant 70 lakh saplings in Delhi has started today.”
Thanking Amit Shah for supporting this initiative under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, CM Gupta said that this synergy between the Delhi government and the Center proves that if both work together, even the biggest challenges can be overcome.
Delhi CM said, “This is a campaign to protect the environment, I would like to thank Amit Shah ji, you have always given priority to Delhi. Your guidance makes us believe that when the Center and the state work together, even bigger challenges are possible.”
Earlier, Delhi CM and Amit Shah planted saplings in the Central Ridge area. The President’s bodyguards live in this area. On this occasion, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and BJP MPs Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Praveen Khandelwal and Delhi Ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra were also present. Union Minister Shah is also going to inaugurate several development initiatives.
Shah also participated in the program of Cooperative Ministry
Earlier on July 6, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah participated in the 5th Foundation Day celebrations of the Ministry of Cooperation at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Cooperation, the event was organized in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Prosperity from Cooperation” and under the leadership of Amit Shah, who has guided the cooperative sector towards greater transparency, technology adoption, institutional strengthening and grassroots empowerment.
Over the last five years, the Ministry has taken several transformational initiatives for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, Cooperative Banks, Dairy Cooperative Societies, Urban Cooperative Societies, National Level Cooperative Institutions and Multi-State Cooperative Societies. (ANI)
