Vijay Hazare Trophy 2026: In the first semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Vidarbha performed brilliantly and made it to the final by defeating defending champion Karnataka. Aman Mokhade was the hero of Vidarbha’s victory in this match played at the BCCI Center of Excellence ground in Bengaluru. Aman Mokhade once again played a memorable innings and continued his form and scored a century. Due to which Vidarbha team has come one step closer to the title.
Karnataka’s star batsman failed
In this match, after winning the toss, Karnataka chose to bat first and scored 280 runs in 50 overs. But Karnataka had a bad start, when openers Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal were out early. Then Karun Nair played a useful inning of 76 runs in 90 balls, during which he made a good partnership with Krishnan Srijit. Krishnan Sreejith scored 54 runs on 53 balls. But Vidarbha bowlers bowled hard, especially Darshan Nalkande did wonders and took 5 wickets and bowled Karnataka all out in 49.4 overs.
Aman Mokhade hits match winning century
Chasing the target of 281 runs, Vidarbha made a great start. Aman Mokhade batted brilliantly and scored a century of 138 runs in 122 balls, which decided the outcome of the match. Ravikumar Samarth also led the team to victory by playing an unbeaten inning of 76 runs. During this, a strong partnership was seen between the two players. Due to which Vidarbha achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in 46.2 overs.
This tournament has been very good for Aman Mokhade so far. He has played a total of 9 matches in the tournament and during this period he has also scored 5 centuries. Along with this, he has also played a half-century innings. Due to which Vidarbha team has consistently performed well and reached the finals. Now he needs only 1 win to win the title. In this match, it will face either Saurashtra or Punjab, who will face each other in the second semi-final on January 16.
