Work is being done to develop new strategies to provide safe, respectful and equal health services to women across the country. For this, All India Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AICOG 2026) will be organized in Delhi. About 44,000 gynecology doctors, including all the big hospitals of the country, will participate in this event, which will run from 14 to 18 February. Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) will do this. Doctors from Delhi AIIMS will also be included in this.
In India, an important step is being taken towards improving the treatment and care related to women’s health. Medical standards related to pregnancy, reproductive health and gynecological diseases will be discussed in the country, so that women can get safe and necessary treatment. After discussing different diseases of women, experts will form an opinion and work on it.
New treatment protocol will be discussed
Delhi AIIMS Dr. Aparna Sharma, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Said that there will be more than 2,000 scientific presentations in this event. Well-known experts from India and abroad will participate in it. New techniques and treatment protocols will also be shared in this. It will be discussed what work can be done towards better health of women, better screening of them and early identification of diseases. The risk of which diseases is increasing in women and how can they be controlled?
Dr. Aparna says that till now in many cases, foreign guidelines and data have been used during treatment, whereas the lifestyle, nutrition, social conditions and health challenges of Indian women are different. In such a situation, experts believe that India-specific health guidelines are the need of the hour.
Timely identification of female diseases is important
Dr. Aparna Sharma says that the cases of diseases like PCOS, PCOD, breast and cervical cancer are increasing rapidly among women in the country. There is a need to control these diseases. Work is being done in this direction. The Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India is continuously working for this.
