Sensation due to the death of Sandra and Vaishnavi.
Sad news has come out from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel located in Kollam, Kerala. Here, dead bodies of two female players of Kabaddi and athletics were found in the room under suspicious circumstances. It is believed that both of them have committed suicide. However, this has not been confirmed yet. This incident has not only shocked the sports world, but has also raised questions on the security of the hostel and the mental health of the players.
The deceased girl students have been identified as Sandra, resident of Kozhikode, and Vaishnavi, resident of Thiruvananthapuram. Sandra was a class 12 (plus two) student, while Vaishnavi was studying in class 10. The incident came to light around 5 am on Thursday (January 15).
Like every day, when other players reached the field for the morning training session, Sandra and Vaishnavi were not seen there. When other girl students living with her went to her room and knocked on the door, there was no response from inside. When they got suspicious, they peeped through the window and found the bodies of both of them hanging from the noose.
Dead bodies found hanging in the same room
Police investigation has revealed that Vaishnavi used to live in another room, but on Wednesday night she had gone to sleep in Sandra’s room. Other girls in the hostel had seen both of them together early in the morning, but no one had any idea that they were going to take such a dreadful step. The officers broke the door and entered the room, where both were found hanging from the fan.
No suicide note found
As soon as the information was received, Kollam East police reached the spot and took possession of the bodies and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem. According to the police, after searching the room, no suicide note has been recovered yet, due to which the cause of death remains a mystery.
Next step of police and officials
However, statements of other players, coaches and trainers of the hostel are being recorded. The families of both the girl students have been informed and their statements will also be taken. Only after the post mortem report comes, the exact cause and time of death will be known. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of fear and sadness among the other students of the hostel.
