Bengaluru: A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Bengaluru, Karnataka. Here a husband and wife brutally beat their own 11 month old daughter to death. Subsequently, they tried to portray the murder as an accident. Police have arrested the girl’s father Shekappa. At the same time, the role of mother Vijayalakshmi in the death of the child is also being investigated. This entire incident took place in Whitefield Division area of Bengaluru. Whitefield DCP Saidulu Adawat said that based on the postmortem report and evidence, it has become clear that it was a murder.
Initially, father Shekappa told the police that mother Vijayalakshmi had fallen asleep while breastfeeding her 11-month-old daughter Renuka. During this time the girl fell down from the bed. He was immediately taken to a private hospital, but doctors declared him dead. But the police became suspicious when they saw that the bed from which the girl was said to have fallen was only 2 feet high. The police felt that the possibility of death due to falling from such a low height was very low. Based on this suspicion, the police started an in-depth investigation of the case.
In the investigation and postmortem report, many injury marks were found on the girl’s face, chest, legs and private parts. The medical report revealed that the girl died due to internal bleeding and suffocation due to brutal beating. Neighbors also told that there were frequent fights between husband and wife. After this, the police took both of them into custody and interrogated them strictly, then the secret of the murder came to light. DCP Saidulu Adawat said that the investigation into the role of the mother is still going on.
According to the initial investigation of the police, there was a heated argument between the husband and wife on the day of the incident. Meanwhile, the girl started crying loudly, due to which father Shekappa got angry. In anger, he kicked the girl and threw her on the ground. Some witnesses also say that mother Vijayalakshmi used to ignore her second daughter Renuka a lot. Police have currently registered a case of murder under section 103(1) of the Indian Judicial Code. Police said that a detailed investigation of the matter is being done.
